BACKGROUND
Abide Financial was a UK-based regulatory reporting platform that helped financial institutions meet complex reporting requirements under regulations such as MiFID II.
The platform served banks, brokers, and trading firms operating in highly regulated environments, where accuracy, reliability, and auditability were critical. Errors could result in significant fines, reputational damage, and regulatory scrutiny.

The challenge was to design tools that could surface clarity and confidence in systems where mistakes were costly and trust was essential.
Design Focus
The design focus was on making complex regulatory workflows clear, predictable, and trustworthy for expert users. Rather than simplifying the regulation itself, the goal was to use clear data visualisations and feedback to surface issues early, make system state explicit, and give users confidence in every submission.
EXPLORING REPORTING STATUS VISUALISATIONS
OUTCOME & IMPACT
The platform proved its value as enterprise-grade regulatory infrastructure, leading to Abide Financial's acquisition by NEX Group and subsequent integration into CME Group's global market services. While the brand was retired, the underlying technology continued as part of CME's post-trade and regulatory offering.
